Class Criteria
WOMEN
Ms. Bikini Shape Under and Over 35
First Time Bikini Shape
- Comparison poses: Front relaxed, side and rear.
- A good level of conditioning and a slightly harder look than normal bikini but not to the extreme.
- A feminine look with a well balanced physique and great stage presentation.
- There is no posing routine but a T-walk to music selected by the NAC.
- Competitors must wear high heels throughout.
- No G-strings and no bathing suits.
Ms. Wellness
- Exactly the same as bikini shape BUT competitors must show a higher level of development in the glutes and thighs.
Ms. Trained Figure Under and Over 40
The classifications for Ms. Figure are based on a height/weight formula:
90 percent of (height–100) = maximum weight
- Four quarter turns: Front, back and side/s.
- Compulsory poses: Front double biceps, side chest, side tricep, rear double bicep, abs and thighs.
- Judges will be looking for physical proportions with symmetrical development.
- A level of muscularity and definition but remain feminine.
- A 60 second routine performed to music.
- Competitors must wear high heels during comparison poses but the routine can be performed with out.
- No G-strings and no bathing suits.
Ms. Figure Over 50
No weight and height restriction - open criteria.
- Four quarter turns: Front, back and side/s.
- Compulsory poses: Front double biceps, side chest, side tricep, rear double bicep, abs and thighs.
- Judges will be looking for physical proportions with symmetrical development.
- A level of muscularity and definition but remain feminine.
- A 60 second routine performed to music.
- Competitors must wear high heels during comparison poses but the routine can be performed with out.
- No G-strings and no bathing suits.
Ms. Physique (Lady's Bodybuilding)
- Four quarter turns: Front, back and side/s.
- Compulsory poses: Front double biceps, front lat spread, side chest, side tricep, back double bicep, rear lat spread, abs and thighs.
- Judges will be looking for proportions, symmetry, maximum muscularity and definition.
- A 60 second routine performed to music.
- No heels allowed for this class.
- No G-strings and no bathing suits.
MEN
Men's Physique (board shorts)
The classification for Men's Physique is based on a height/weight formula:
height–100 = maximum weight
- Four quarter turns: Front (one hand to be on hip and one leg slightly angled, right side (one hand remains on hip), rear (one hand on hip, one leg slightly angled), left side (one hand remains on hip.
- Judges will be looking for good proportions (waist to shoulders, symmetry and definition of muscles.
- Overall look and presentation of the athlete is important in this class.
- There is no individual posing routine but a t-walk with music provided by NAC.
- Shorts must be knee length with no sponsor logo's.
Men's Classic
Classic 1: Over 1.75m
Classic 2: Under 1.75m
Classic Over 40's
The classifications for this class are based on 4 different height/weight formulas:
up to and including 1.70m: height–100+4kg = maximum weight
1.71m up to and including 1.79m: height–100+6kg = maximum weight
1.80m up to and including 1.89m: height–100+8kg = maximum weight
over 1.90m: height–100+10kg = maximum weight
- Four quarter turns: Front, rear, side/s.
- Comparison poses: Front double biceps, front lat spread, side chest, rear double bicep, abs and thighs and a pose of athlete choice.
- Judges are looking for proportions (shoulder to waist balance), symmetry, muscular definition.
- Overall appearance is important.
- A 60 second posing routine to music.
- Trunks must be uni-coloured but with side band of 10-12cm.
All other Classes
Masters
Over 70's: 70 years and older
Over 60's: 60 to 69 years old
Over 50's: 50 to 59 years old
Over 40's: 40 to 49 years old
(based on year and month born)
Juniors: Under 24 years of age
All age categories must be within that age band on the day of the show.
First Timers: Never entered a show before any federation.
Novice: Never won a show before any federation.
Open Classes
Class 4: up to and including 1.65m
Class 3: 1.66m up to and including 1.72m
Class 2: 1.73m up to and including 1.79m
Class 1: over 1.79m
- Four quarter turns: Front, rear, sides/s.
- Comparison poses: Front double bicep, front lat spread, side chest, side tricep, back double bicep, rear lat spread, abs and thighs, most muscular.
- Judges are looking for symmetry and proportions with maximum muscularity and definitions.
- A 60 second posing routine to music.
